In Acts chapter 5, Peter, John and the apostles were challenged to face death or be silenced. In Acts 5:29 Peter boldly tells the adversary that he and the apostles must obey God and not man. By God’s grace they are rescued from death but flogged. In verse 41-42 they do the unimaginable. They don’t cry or complain, but instead, they celebrate and count it joy to share with Christ in suffering. After the brief celebration, they dust off their boots and continue to obey God by sharing the gospel. May we be men and women who move in boldness and when adversity strike help us to see that in the moment, we share in your suffering!
