3.6.5 Devotions: Financial Wisdom

January 6, 2021

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5  It’s easy to pray for debt release or for financial increase but it’s not quite that simple. God is not a genie in a bottle who grants wishes.  No, he is a loving Father who is more interested in the fruit gained through the process.  He knows the end from the beginning and has allowed the scenario to build character and resilience in you along the way.

One of the key components to gaining wealth is wisdom.  If you know anyone that lives in the land of abundance they walk in a wisdom the average person does not.  I’ve heard a thousand different things concerning why people struggle financially but honestly I believe it’s a bunch of hogwash. Yes, we need to create budgets and spend what we have been given wisely but that does not generate the overflow that is needed to be a greater blessing.  One must have a strategy, a wisdom from heaven on how to specifically gain financial expanse.

Each person has their own recipe.  Of course some things are foundational to everyone, one person may gain wisdom for a social media income while another may gain financial wisdom in the stock market.  Each person needs financial wisdom for themselves. I refuse to believe we were created to work, pay bills and never expand in a way that frees us to live the life God created for us.  Yes, work is always necessary but it is possible for it to be more productive and pleasurable.  Can that same work bring personal satisfaction that is spread to others?  I say yes.  The fact that there are actors, singers, politicians who thrive personally while spreading their success to us is proof. As we find faith to believe God for debt release may we also find our personal recipe of financial wisdom.
