The earth is groaning, waiting for the manifestation of the sons and the daughters of God! (Romans 8:19) The recent deaths in the African American community have come during a pivotal time. Our nation is in an uproar, lives have been lost, families shaken by the sudden onset of grief all while COVID-19 continues to bulldoze its way through the land. The earth groans, “Where are the sons and daughters of God?”
Until now, the lullaby of false security has rocked them to sleep, silently content as long as their nest wasn’t stirred. Now as a country, we are an emotional wreck, manifesting and spewing years of corrupted silence, forced agreements sold to us for survival. Now, the earth groans. The question is, will the sons and daughters manifest, awaken, be activated and weaponized again?
We must remember who the real enemy is. The devil has thrown a rock and hid his hand all while pointing his fingers at different entities laying the blame. We are not each other’s true enemy. It would be wise to pull back, look behind the crowd and see who truly is responsible for our nation’s demise. (Ephesians 6:12) Yes, corrupt men play their role and they are one piece of the puzzle. But we as believers have the ability to pray that those responsible at every level be uncovered and brought to justice, that boldness come upon the silent bystanders that sit in positions of authority mute, and that God empowers and raises up fearless leaders that carry His purpose.
Yes, He hears the cries of those who suffer daily at the hand of injustice and longs for the day to vindicate them, it’s His nature. Just as God delivered the children of Israel from Egypt, he will set things in order concerning injustice. (Exodus 12) I believe we are in a similar situation now. The cries of injustice are crying out to God. We as spiritual leaders must remind God of his word and repent for our nations sins. We must play our part in justice.
It could be months, years or even decades before we see real change but the question is, “Is it worth the fight?. Do we truly believe change can come? I pray God touches the hearts of the next God centered, heaven focused activist, leaders, intercessors, prayer warriors and pour out His heart concerning this matter until they burn for what his heart burns for; justice, equality, acceptance and love. The very thing we claim to be yet fail to demonstrate. Who will carry us into our next level of freedom? “Who will go for us?” I pray your heart is seared with the response, “Here I am Lord send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)
